  • How much does it cost to use Booomerang?
    It is completely free to create an account on Booomerang and post rental items. We only take a 10% commission fee on every transaction from the lender. We do not charge any additional fees to the renter.
  • Can I speak with someone?
    Absolutely, yes! Email us at and our team would be more than happy to schedule a time to call as soon as possible.
  • Are taxes included in the pricing?
    If you are a business using Booomerang and you would like to charge sales taxes on your rentals, you will need to include it in the rental price you set when you post your item. You can use the description to give any details such as whether sales taxes is included in the price. If you wish to provide the renter with an invoice directly to show the breakdown of rental fee and sales taxes, you can give them a physical invoice when they pick up the rental item. Booomerang is an intermediary between the renter and the lender so we cannot offer any tax advice. However, we can help you understand the functionality available on our website to best serve your needs.
  • Is it free to post a rental item?
    Yes. It is completely free to create an account and post items you want to rent to others.
  • What can I lend?
    You can lend pretty much anything you like. Lend your bike, your power tools, your winter gear, your camping gear. You can lend anything that's sitting in your garage right now.
  • What happens if someone changes their mind after a booking request?
    We encourage all our community members to communicate between each other when a rental booking request is made. It is wise to be as informative as possible and share as much details as needed when dealing with a lender or a renter. Always make sure to be clear and respectful of each other’s time to avoid any issues. If a major issue arises, please email us immediately at so we can try to accommodate and come to an agreement on any dispute.
  • How do I leave a review on Booomerang?
    Both renters and lenders can review each other as soon as you're done with the rental booking. When you mark a booking as complete, you will be prompted to rate and leave a review. As per our Terms and Conditions, we will not tolerate any reviews which are untrue, deemed abusive, aggressive or show threatening behaviour or discrimination. We believe in treating everyone with respect and will not allow any reviews which are likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person. We are not able to change reviews without the permission of the author, to uphold the integrity of the platform.   • What is Booomerang's Cancellation Policy?
    A booking can be cancelled with a full refund up to 2 days (48 hours) before the booking start date. A cancellation can happen up until the booking start date but must be done prior to 48 hours before the start date to get a refund. This cancellation policy applies to both hourly and daily rental bookings. You can read our full Cancellation Policy.
  • What happens if the lender does not show up or provide the item after I paid?
    If there is a no-show or any issues with a rental booking, please contact us immediately by emailing We will work with you to resolve the issue and return your money to you as long as you reach out to us within the hour of you start booking time. We also recommend that you speak with the lender through our messaging system beforehand to ensure all the details are understood.
  • What are the total fees associated with using Booomerang?
    We do not charge any fees to the renter - the person requesting to rent an item. We take a 10% commission from the lender - the person receiving the request to rent an item from. This 10% take rate is deducted from the lender's payout, not added on top of their price.
  • How is payment handled with Booomerang?
    We’ve set up the payment system to be fast, easy, and secure for everyone. All payments are processed through Stripe, a completely secure and trusted payment processing partner. All payments are through Booomerang's website for conveniences during the rental process. Using Stripe makes us PCI compliant, and we never store any credit card information on our servers or database. When you rent You pay for a rental booking by providing a valid credit card in our safe and secure online payment system powered by Stripe. Your credit card is needed to be able to submit a booking request but it is not charged until the lender confirms your booking request. If they never confirm your request, your credit card will never be charged. When you lend You can post your rental items for free and begin accepting booking requests. You will not be able to accept or confirm any requests until you provide your banking information so that we can pay you out through direct deposit - this is also handled by Stripe.

  • How will I be protected?
    Booomerang is an online marketplace that connects people that have items to lend with people that want to rent those items. We do our best to brings people together in a safe and welcoming environment and keep the community safe. We deal with issues very seriously as they are brought to our attention. We have implemented features such as email verification, Google and Facebook verification, and we continue to add more verification features to show that who you may be dealing with is an actual real person. We do not store your payment information and all transaction payments are handled through Stripe, a trusted and a verified payment provider for many top companies.
  • How does verification work?
    We always want to maintain a safe environment for both renters and lenders here on Booomerang. In our initial release, we verify all user's emails however we plan to add more verification procedures in the near future.
